Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to two years of prior QC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and products for testing.
  • Sample and reduction of samples.
  • Perform routine tests of raw materials, calculate results and prepare test reports.
  • Test products and raw materials and record results.
  • Calculate adjustments needed to correct the product if necessary.
  • Obtain product samples and communicate what will be produced.
  • Perform production material tests during shifts.
  • Know and apply ASTM standards that apply and ensure products meet these standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping of assigned areas and equipment.
  • Other duties as needed.

Description Summary

Responsible for inspecting and testing raw materials and products to make sure they meet required levels of quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparation of materials and products for testing.
  • Sampling and reduction of samples.
  • Routine tests of raw materials, calculation of results and preparation of test reports.
  • Test all products and raw material and record results.
  • Calculate adjustments needed to correct the product if necessary.
  • Obtain product samples and communicate what will be produced.
  • Perform production material test throughout shift.
  • Know all ASTM standards that apply and ensure all products meet these standards.
  • Maintenance and housekeeping of assigned areas and equipment.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary basis as needed.
Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass drug screen and criminal background.
  • Must partner with other quarry employees as instructed by facility manager to ensure daily schedules are met.
  • Attendance required according to attendance policy to ensure crew ability to operate at a normal efficiency level.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours of time.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completions.
  • Attitude/cooperation: always maintain courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work various times during day, night, or weekend hours at various locations.
  • Ability to follow MSHA/OSHA safety guidelines as well as those set forth by the company policy.
  • Ability to follow instructions of supervisor/facility manager on order to adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One to two years prior QC experience preferred.
