Approximately 80% of your time will be spent in-house performing quality control and testing on panels prior to shipment; the remaining 20% will involve travel to end-user job sites for pump start-ups, control panel commissioning, and field modifications. This is a hands-on role. You are the last eyes on a panel before it ships to a customer, and the face of AID in the field during commissioning and troubleshooting. AID is in an active growth phase, transitioning to enterprise systems and building scalable production infrastructure. The right candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and is ready to help shape the future of AID.

  • Accurately complete test reports, inspection checklists, and other QC documentation
  • Maintain working technical fluency with UL 508A panel builds (able to read prints, understand wiring/BOM discrepancies, and speak credibly with builders about a technical issue)
  • Identify and document quality issues prior to shipment and coordinate corrective action with Production and Engineering
Field Startup & Commissioning (~20% of time)
  • Lead and support on-site pump control panel commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and end-user training
  • Perform field modifications, upgrades, or recommended design changes to control panels, field devices, and associated components
  • Provide technical leadership during field activities and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, communicating clearly and calmly with customers on system status, issues, and resolutions. This includes situations where something isn't working as expected
  • Provide diagnostic guidance and technical assistance to internal and external customers
General
  • Knowledgeable of pump systems and pump station operation (centrifugal pumps, motor starters, VFDs, soft starts) as well as three-phase/single-phase power, transformers, relay logic, serial communication, PLC operation, PC-based data-loading programs, and electrical/electronic test equipment and hand tools
  • Variable frequency drive programming and PLC flashing/setup
  • Promote a safe working environment adhering to all safety processes and procedures
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer focus
  • Reports to the QC Lead
Requirements:
  • Represent AID as a professional in both shop and customer-facing field environment
  • Self-motivated and team oriented, with the composure to manage a customer relationship on-site under pressure
  • Working knowledge of pumps, pump stations, or similar mechanical/motor-driven equipment
  • Minimum two years of automation experience preferred, including various types of sensors, analog and digital inputs/outputs, and testing/calibration of valves and transmitters
  • Competent in reading and understanding electronic/electrical schematic diagrams
  • Able to diagnose system failures using methodical, logical troubleshooting practices; proficient in technical writing
  • Willingness and ability to travel (approximately 20% of the role) for field startups and
    modifications
  • Prior field service, commissioning, or customer-facing technical support experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Effective planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills are essential
