Job Overview

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. (“Thalle”) is seeking a Quality Control Technician located in Clayton, NC. This role focuses on ensuring quality throughout heavy civil construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall quality control (QC) of the project.
• Assist with implementation of Project QA/QC Program and monitor for compliance.
• Review and understand contract specifications, scope of work, and exclusions outlined in the contract and related industry standards.
• Conduct inspections of workmanship and materials.
• Administer the overall quality and assurance program.
• Act in all quality assurance and control matters for the Company.
• File reports and photo documentation.
• Attend contractor QA/QC meetings and monitor issues and concerns noted in the meeting minutes.
• Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 1–3 years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably in dam, reservoir, landfill, or wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Experience and knowledge of Army Corps of Engineers projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Superior analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong organization, planning, oral, consultative, and written communication skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and build trust with Owners and Customers.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely perform job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and federal/state/local standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
