Job summary

The Dixon Group in Pewaukee, WI is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform in-process audits, inspect materials, and calibrate gauges. You will help ensure product conformance and support continuous improvement in a 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday schedule.

This role requires a strong background in inspection, measurement and metrology with hands-on experience using CMM and vision systems. The company values veterans and provides medical and training benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with in-process and incoming inspection plans.
• Strong background in inspection, measurement and metrology.
• Ability to calibrate gauges and maintain testing equipment.
• Proficient in documenting quality data and generating reports.

Responsibilities

• Develops incoming and in-process inspection plans.
• Creates inspection reports and MRB when parts fail drawings.
• Supports engineering by designing test and inspection fixtures.
• Receives incoming product and ensures conformance and integrity.
• Performs investigations and corrective actions for defects.
• Participates in cost reduction to reduce COPQ.
• Maintains quality instruments and testing equipment.
• Performs internal and external quality audits.

The Dixon Groupis looking for aQuality Control Technicianto join our team!In this role, you will be responsible for in-process audits in production, inspecting and approving incoming materials, and managing calibration of gauges. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision and has a strong background in inspection, measurement, and metrology.

What You'll Do:

• Develops incoming and in process inspection plans
• Creates inspection reports and initiates a material review board (MRB) if parts are not in compliance with drawing
• Supports engineering by designing and producing test and inspection fixtures
• Receives incoming product and ensures product compliance and integrity
• Is involved in investigations and corrective actions for defects and customer complaints
• Initiates cost reduction activities to minimize waste, scrap, and rework, which will directly reduce the business unit's cost of poor quality (COPQ)
• Continual improvement agent for the business
• Maintain and manage quality control instruments and testing equipment
• Ensure compliance with the QMS by providing training and conducting audits
• Use the DDS (ERP System) to receive and document inventory
• Inspect products using CMM, Vision System, Calipers, Micrometers and other equipment as needed
• Perform statistical analysis studies on parts for incoming and PPAP needs
• Help develop the QA team into a world class department
• Develop and maintain adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures
• Perform internal and external quality audits.
