Job summary

Trinidad Benham Corporation in City of Industry, CA, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join the Packaging Operations team. This full-time role reports to Jaime Vicencio and oversees sampling, inspections and documentation to ensure product quality and SQF compliance.

The ideal candidate has working knowledge of QC methods, strong math and data skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A detail-oriented, team-focused attitude and ability to adapt to changing priorities are

Responsibilities

• Climb rail cars using safety precautions to pull samples.
• Test and inspect products at various stages and compile data for quality evaluation.
• Perform QC checks in Shipping, Receiving or Packaging to ensure materials meet standards.
• Conduct continuous QC checks during production and on finished goods to meet customer specs and food safety guidelines.
• Maintain consistency of quality standards on all paperwork for the product.
• Document QC checks accurately and timely per guidelines.
• Communicate quality issues to Managers, Supervisors, Leads, and Machine Operators.
• Grade incoming product samples and pull outbound samples for customers.
• Notify supervisor of serious defects or risks and escalate as needed.
• Ensure GMP and SQF documentation is completed and maintained.

Quality Control Technician

Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 / hour

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Must be able to climb up rail cars using all safety precautions and harness to pull samples.
• Tests and inspects the products in appropriate departments (shipping, and necessary packaging) at various stages of the production process, and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products.
• Performs quality control functions in Shipping, Receiving or Packaging departments by collecting and evaluating production samples, ensuring that materials and products meet acceptable quality and integrity standards.
• Performs a variety of continuous Quality Control checks during production and on finished goods to ensure product quality and packaging meet required customer specifications and food safety guidelines.
• Maintains consistent quality standards on all incoming and outgoing paperwork for the product.
• Documents Quality Control checks per required guidelines accurately and timely.
• Communicates necessary information to Managers/Supervisors, Leads, and/or Machine Operators, regarding product quality and packaging defects discovered during control checks.
• Grades incoming product samples received by truck and rail.
• Pulls and ships outbound samples for customers.
• Communicates variations in Housekeeping and National Food Safety standards to the Quality Control Supervisor as they occur.
• Monitors and completes necessary documentation with grade and lot information.
• Ensures that Quality Control documentation is complete and accurate.
• Checks product from packaging lines every hour.
• Communicates with management and other maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
• Immediately notifies Production Supervisor when serious product defects or risks arise.
• Complies with company safety policies and maintains clean and orderly work area and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
• Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Monitors for signs of possible infestation, notifies supervisor and maintains log.
• Other duties as assigned by management

WHAT WE NEED
