Qualifications

  • Support continuous improvement of the quality management system and product quality.

Job Shift: 3rd Shift

Summary: Assists in the assurance of the manufacture of high-quality products through the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive program of materials and product testing, analysis, and reporting. Provides the comprehensive inspection of production materials, utilizing established specifications, and reports results to the appropriate constituents that may include management, the Quality Manager, or production personnel. These materials are to be inspected at incoming, during manufacture, and after manufacture.

Essential Functions, Duties, Abilities and Responsibilities:
  • Accurately follow existing inspection procedures and instructions and carries out established methods for inspection, testing, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Carries out a comprehensive program of product sample testing, and uses established forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Obtains, prepares, and tests product samples to be submitted to Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Edison Test Labs (ETL), CSA Group, and/or other product accreditation agencies.
  • Aids production personnel when engaged in product measuring and testing, tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Keeps production personnel aware of quality-related issues, doing so in a timely manner.
  • Interfaces with management, the Quality Manager, and production personnel concerning questions about procurement, engineering, manufacturing, customer, or vendors to assist in the resolution of quality-related problems.
  • Provides appropriate status reports describing progress and concerns related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and/or other items related to the quality of the process, material, or product.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the latest codes, standards, specifications, and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products.
  • Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions.
  • Competent in the definition and solution of technical problems related to manufacturing processes and procedures. Identifies and reports problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Strives to continuously build personal knowledge and skills; shares expertise with others.
  • Follows policies and procedures; completes all tasks correctly and on time. Ability to work with others in a team-oriented structure. Respectful of all individuals without respect to job position or status.
