Job summary

United Concrete in Wallingford, CT seeks a Quality Control Supervisor to own the QC program, documentation, and DOT/PCI/NPCA compliance in a predominantly office-based role. You will manage records and audit readiness, analyze data, and drive process improvements.

The role requires 5+ years QA/QC in precast/construction materials, plus strong Excel and documentation skills. Regular DOT coordination and audits are key parts of the position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA/QC experience in precast concrete or related manufacturing.
• Experience managing QC documentation for DOT or transportation agency review.
• Experience facilitating DOT, PCI, and NPCA audits.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
• Strong knowledge of concrete materials, ASTM/AASHTO test methods, and precast inspection tolerances.
• High school diploma required; technical or 4-year degree preferred.
• NPCA/PCI Level I/II or DOT QC Inspector certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the plant's QC documentation system and keep all records complete, accurate, and audit-ready
• Review and approve technician test records and inspection reports against specs and shop drawings
• Maintain records for raw materials, mill certs, equipment calibrations, and test results
• Manage NCR, RFI, and site inspection logs through closure
• Prepare and submit documentation packages to DOT and transportation agencies
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports
• Serve as primary contact for DOT inspections and facilitate PCI and NPCA plant certification audits
• Plan and execute internal audits; track corrective actions to closure
• Analyze test data and inspection trends; lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Conduct regular plant floor walkthroughs to verify procedures and spot-check testing and inspections
• Coordinate daily QC technician assignments and train on documentation and procedural updates

United Concrete, a 70-year leader in precast concrete serving New England, is hiring a Quality Control Supervisor in Wallingford, CT to own our QC program, documentation, and DOT/PCI/NPCA compliance.

This is a primarily office-based role (approx. 80% office / 20% plant floor) focused on records management, audit readiness, data review, and process improvement.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Reports to: Quality Control Manager
