Job summary

Averro is seeking a QC Supervisor to lead a quality-focused operation in Monroe, WA. You will guide the QC team, set standards for accuracy and accountability, and ensure products meet quality, safety, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities include coordinating lab activities, monitoring turn-around-times, dispositioning samples, and overseeing audits, calibration, maintenance, and KPI tracking. Strong leadership and chemistry background are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or relevant science.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel for data entry, trending and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily QC sampling and lab activities aligned with business needs.
• Monitor product release and associated turn-around-times (TAT).
• QC sample and batch dispositioning.
• Participate in lab investigations and root cause analyses.
• Oversee maintenance, calibration verification, and troubleshooting of lab instruments.
• Oversee environmental monitoring and QC validation activities.
• Assist with internal, third party, and regulatory audits.
• Manage schedules, timesheets, performance evaluations, and investigations of QC staff.
• Provide feedback, recognition, and disciplinary actions as appropriate, and participate in QC hiring.
• Track and compile daily output for monthly department KPIs.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the QC Supervisor, you’ll be a driving force behind a quality-focused, high-performing operation—guiding your team, setting the standard for accuracy and accountability, and ensuring products consistently meet quality, safety, and customer expectations.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate daily QC sampling and laboratory activities, ensuring work is prioritized efficiently and in accordance with business needs
• Monitor product release and associated turn-around-times (TAT)
• QC sample and batch dispositioning
• Participate in and oversee lab investigations and root cause analysis
• Oversee preventative maintenance, calibration verification, and troubleshooting activities for laboratory instruments
• Oversee environmental monitoring and QC-related validation activities
• Assist with internal, third party, and regulatory audits
• Manage schedules, timesheets, performance evaluation, and accident investigations of QC staff
• Provide positive reinforcement, recognition, constructive criticism, and disciplinary actions as appropriate, and participate in QC staff hiring process as needed
• Track and compile daily output to contribute to monthly departmental key performance indicators (KPIs)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior supervisory or leadership experience required, 2+ years preferred
• Completion of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or relevant science discipline; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint with emphasis on Excel (data entry, trending, and analysis)
• Effective communication in the English language, both written and verbal
• Prior experience operating and maintaining lab equipment and instrumentation in an analytical laboratory setting is an asset
• Prior experience in a pharmaceutical, natural health, or food product manufacturing environment an asset
