Job summary

Black Diamond Coatings, Inc. is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead a small QC team on the production floor. You will direct daily activities, enforce SOPs, and ensure complete documentation of inspections for finished goods and raw materials.

The role focuses on hands-on quality control, calibration maintenance, and CAPA/documentation efforts, with an emphasis on teamwork and process improvement. This position is based on-site in Brooksville, FL.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in laboratory or QC roles in manufacturing or chemical environments.
• Demonstrated leadership (e.g., mentoring, shift lead, process owner).
• Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and documentation protocols.
• Experience with wet chemistry or related testing procedures.
• Intermediate Excel and digital recordkeeping competency.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and use lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of 1–2 QC Technicians.
• Train and mentor team in QC methods, safety, and SOP compliance.
• Ensure timely and complete documentation of all batch and raw material inspections.
• Perform daily testing of finished goods and raw materials.
• Execute in-process checks to uphold quality at every production stage.
• Maintain accurate calibration logs and equipment maintenance records.
• Review and verify COAs, SDSs, and batch records.
• Contribute to ISO 9001 gap assessments and documentation efforts.
• Prepare internal audit checklists, traceability logs, and CAPA documentation.
• Ensure document control and SOP revisions are current and audit-ready.
• Lead weekly safety audits of eyewash stations, extinguishers, and PPE compliance.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

The Quality Supervisor plays a key leadership role on the BDC team, ensuring high standards in product quality, process consistency, and documentation integrity. This is a hands-on supervisory position that oversees QC Technicians and is responsible for executing BDC's quality control processes, supporting ISO 9001 readiness, and maintaining operational excellence on the production floor.

This role is ideal for someone with strong laboratory operations experience, attention to detail, and the ability to coach others while staying deeply involved in daily quality control execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Supervision
• Direct daily activities of 1–2 QC Technicians
• Train and mentor team in QC methods, safety, and SOP compliance
• Ensure timely and complete documentation of all batch and raw material inspections
• Quality Control & Documentation
• Perform daily testing of finished goods and raw materials
• Execute in-process checks to uphold quality at every stage of production

• Contribute to ISO 9001 gap assessments and documentation efforts
• Prepare internal audit checklists, traceability logs, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) documentation
• Ensure document control and SOP revisions are current and audit-ready
• Process Input & Safety
• Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in quality workflows
• Propose local process improvements (layout, equipment usage, documentation tools)
• Lead weekly safety audits of eyewash stations, extinguishers, and PPE compliance
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

• 4+ years in laboratory or QC technician roles in a manufacturing or chemical environment
• Demonstrated leadership (e.g., mentoring, shift lead, process owner)
