Job summary

Nestlé Health Science is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to lead the Analytical Laboratory team, overseeing testing and release of raw materials, bulk, finished products, and third‑party products. Position Summary

As a Quality Control Supervisor you will play a critical leadership role in supporting our mission of delivering trusted products that meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Manager, Quality Control Services, you will lead the Analytical Laboratory team, overseeing the testing and release of raw materials, finished products, and third-party manufactured products. In this role, you'll inspire and develop laboratory professionals while driving accurate, timely, and efficient testing operations. You'll champion a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with cGMP, GLP, FDA regulations, ISO 17025 standards, Nestlé Quality Management Systems, and SHE principles. Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all laboratory personnel follow approved specifications, compendial methods, and testing procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with Quality Control Services principles, cGMP, GLP, FDA regulations, ISO 17025 requirements, and site safety standards.
  • Represent Quality Control at site and network leadership meetings.
  • Manage laboratory workflow, prioritize testing activities, and ensure timely completion of raw material, bulk, finished product, and third-party product release testing.
  • Coordinate testing schedules to support production timelines and business needs.
  • Review, analyze, and authorize laboratory results, providing critical evaluation of data and laboratory systems.
  • Support product disposition activities through accurate data entry and review in SAP and other laboratory systems.
  • Ensure products are released or rejected in accordance with established quality standards and specifications.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact compliance, product quality, or product availability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, effectiveness, and service levels.
  • Lead investigations of Out-of-Specification (OOS) results and ensure findings are thoroughly documented.
  • Provide technical expertise and laboratory support to Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, CTAG, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Support stability studies, method validations, special projects, and other laboratory testing requests.
  • Communicate testing status, laboratory priorities, and key performance metrics to management.
  • Partner with colleagues to develop, review, and implement laboratory documentation, including SOPs, specifications, protocols, and reports.
  • Coach and develop laboratory subject matter experts to effectively train and onboard new analysts.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance to Quality Control personnel.
  • Conduct performance coaching, talent reviews, and development planning for direct reports.
  • Build succession plans and support career development initiatives for team members.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Planning, R&D, Analytical Services, and other key stakeholders.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies and external laboratory partners as needed.
  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience & Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of laboratory, quality control, or analytical testing experience; experience within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, or consumer products industry preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control systems, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), food safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within Food Safety Management Systems and maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Relevant quality, laboratory, or regulatory certifications are a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with laboratory information management, documentation, and record-keeping systems.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as LC, GC, ICP, or related laboratory technologies.
  • Strong technical writing, data analysis, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret scientific data, technical reports, specifications, procedures, and regulatory documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply scientific and analytical thinking to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving business environment.

Salary: $95,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
