Job summary

Quantum Industrial Services is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to oversee welding and fabrication inspections, ensuring compliance with AWS, ASME, and project specifications. You will validate materials, WPS/PQR documentation, and coordinate NDT activities across shop, site, and field environments.

The role requires 3–5+ years of welding inspection experience, a CWI certification, and strong communication skills to collaborate with project teams and inspectors.

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
• 3–5+ years welding inspection experience in fabrication, structural steel, or piping environments.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and B31.1/B31.3 code.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, WPS, and PQR documentation.
• Familiarity with NDT methods preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality documentation processes.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated assemblies.

• Collaborate with fabrication teams, project managers, and customer inspectors to resolve quality concerns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong safety culture.

About the role

• The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring all welding and fabrication activities comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and company quality requirements. This position oversees inspection, testing, documentation, and verification of welding activities to maintain the highest level of product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Combination of fabrication shop, construction site, and field work
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and access elevated or confined spaces
• Must be able to stand, walk, and perform inspections for extended periods
• Travel up to 25% as needed for project support
