Position Overview
The QC Specialist is responsible for the integrity of print and digital files produced by the Studio. The QC Specialist is an experienced professional, able to juggle day-to-day work-flow in an extremely active department. This position reports to the Associate Director, Studio.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and identify production issues within art files and conceptual materials produced by internal and freelance Studio team at key stages of process:
- Mechanical (Construction, die-lines, color usage, image resolution, design integrity, naming convention, etc.)
- QC (Assets are Print /Digital quality, within brand guidelines, consistent to the campaign, etc.)
- Release (Release File and final routed document match, package is complete, and Production Manager is informed)
- Cross check edits and relay any/all updates to Studio artist
Maintain the highest possible standards and follow processes for all print and digital materials produced by the Studio.
Prioritize workload and execute assigned projects ensuring schedules and deadlines are met.
Partner with all team members and function within the team structure.
Inform Supervisor on the status of departmental affairs, including all design-related computer hardware/software needs (upgrades, equipment needs/problems, training, etc.).
Help to identify and eliminate factors creating conflict and minimize recurrence.
Partner with Print Production to develop/modify Spec Sheets.
Consult with Supervisor, Account Service, Project Management, and other agency team members as necessary to achieve agency objectives.
Engage in personal development to stay current in electronic file preparation techniques and standards.
May be required to work beyond normal scheduled hours to meet business needs.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Support Studio Brand Leads as needed.
- Contribute to Edits, Mechanical, QC, and Release of art files.
- Support New Business initiatives.
- Contribute to in-house projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Expert knowledge of print and digital processes and file preparation.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well in teams.
- Dexterity to quickly understand and transition between different projects, initiatives, or work streams.
- Ability to prioritize work-flow and redirect projects to meet changing deadlines.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to multi-task, handle stressful situations, and meet deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain brand identity.
Salary Range
$80,000 - $100,000
The salary range provided is for the NYC-hybrid position, which requires occasional in-office presence. For other locations, salary will be adjusted according to local market rates. Actual salary decisions depend on experience, education, training, qualifications, and organizational needs. Salary is part of the total rewards package at BGB Group.
