Job summary

Kiwa PPI, a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services for the energy sector, is expanding its Quality Control team with a QC Specialist – CWI Inspector. This on‑site role in Homer City, PA involves witnessing inspections, validating equipment, and generating formal reports for power generation construction projects.

The ideal candidate has AWS CWI and NACE CIP II certifications with 5+ years in oil & gas and third‑party inspection, along with strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector required.
• NACE CIP II (or greater) required.
• 3–5 years in a third‑party inspection role.
• 5+ years in the oil and gas industry.
• 5+ years in CWI, structural inspection, piping inspection, and site construction oversight.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Thorough understanding of third‑party inspection processes (NDE, FAT, Assembly).
• Knowledge of API, ASME, NACE, DS‑1 quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Witness inspections and testing per plans, quality plans, standards, and customer requirements.
• Verify calibration/certification of inspection/test equipment.
• Validate technician certifications are current.
• Act as Customer Representative in scheduling and deliveries.
• Generate reports documenting rejection/acceptance of inspections/testing.
• Prepare clear, concise reports on activities under surveillance.
• Meet HSSE objectives and Kiwa PPI safety guidelines.
• Communicate job progression and results to coordinator and Customer.

Job Summary

Kiwa PPI is a global provider of quality assurance and inspection services supporting the energy industry, and is expanding its Quality Control team with experienced QC Specialists. In this role, you will perform and witness inspections and testing activities to ensure compliance with industry codes, customer specifications, and Kiwa PPI procedures.

About the role

Role Title: Quality Control Specialist – CWI Inspector

Location: Construction site in Homer City, PA

Possible Start Date: October 26, 2026

Duration: 2 years

Schedule: 5 days a week / 10 hours a day (50 hours/week)

Scope of Work: Site construction oversight inspection for power generation construction.

Responsibilities

• Witness inspections and testing per inspection test plans, quality plans, industry standards, supplier and customer requirements
• Verify inspection, measurement, and test equipment is calibrated/certified and meets all job related requirements
• Validate technician certification(s) are current for the intended scope of activity
• As the Customer Representative, work in a professional manner with Suppliers in regards to scheduling, deliveries, and overall job execution
• Generate reports documenting rejection and acceptance of inspections and testing activities
• Generate clear, concise, and accurate reports documenting rejection and acceptance of activities under surveillance
• Meet or exceed HSSE objectives of customer and Supplier, as well as PPI safety guidelines
• Communicate (via email or phone) job progression and inspection results to coordinator and Customer as required
• Promote safe work practices; for example, utilize all PPE required by the immediate work area, comply with Supplier safety practices while at
• Supplier locations, etc.
• Comply with Kiwa PPI Quality Management System and its documented information

Do you have what it takes?

Minimum Requirements

• American Welding Society (AWS) – Certified Welding Inspector certification
• National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) certification CIP Level II (or greater)
• 3-5 years of experience in a Third Party Inspection role.
• 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
• 5+ years of experience in CWI, Structural Inspection, Piping Inspection, and Site Construction oversight.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Thorough understanding of third-party inspection processes (NDE, FAT, Assembly, etc.)
• Understanding of and experience with industry quality standards and codes (API, ASNT, ASME, NACE, DS-1, etc.)
• Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interface with customers and co-workers
• Basic PC skills and some proficiency with spreadsheets
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and complete work on a schedule, including working long hours and weekends if necessary
• Decision-making ability, including making decisions regarding day-to-day operations and changing methods to obtain best results
