Job summary

Bowa Construction in Dallas seeks a Quality Control Manager to develop and implement the project quality management plan for a 500MW data center. The role ensures all construction work is inspected, tested, and documented to meet contract specifications and owner quality standards before systems are commissioned.

QC Manager will establish a culture of quality across subcontractors, implement a rigorous ITP, and coordinate with the commissioning authority to ensure readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of quality control or quality management on large commercial or industrial projects.
• Experience on data center, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or mission-critical quality programs.
• Strong knowledge of special inspection requirements per IBC and AISC.
• Proficiency in Procore quality module for inspections, punch lists, and NCR tracking.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) at project mobilization.
• Conduct pre-installation meetings with all subcontractors to review quality requirements before work begins.
• Perform daily field inspections across all active scopes and document findings in Procore.
• Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) for deficient work and track resolution to closure.
• Coordinate third-party special inspection and testing services (concrete, soils, structural steel, welds).
• Manage the special inspection program including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
• Review subcontractor quality plans, ITPs, and mock-up requirements for compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate owner's quality representative site visits and inspections.
• Manage the project deficiency log and ensure all items are resolved before systems commissioning.
• Interface with the commissioning authority on quality requirements affecting commissioning readiness.
• Verify subcontractor material submittals are approved before installation begins.
• Conduct periodic quality audits and issue corrective action requests.
• Maintain project quality records including inspection reports, test results, and NCR logs.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Quality Control Manager develops and implements the project quality management plan for the 500MW data center. This role ensures all construction work is inspected, tested, and documented to meet contract specifications, design requirements, and the owner's quality standards before systems are commissioned.

Quality on a hyperscale data center is not optional — defects discovered during commissioning or after turnover can cost millions and delay the owner's revenue-generating operations. The QC Manager must establish a culture of quality across all subcontractors from day one and implement a rigorous inspection and test plan (ITP).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of quality control or quality management on large commercial or industrial projects
• Experience on data center, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or mission-critical quality programs
• Strong knowledge of special inspection requirements per IBC and AISC
• Proficiency in Procore quality module for inspections, punch lists, and NCR tracking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or ASQC certification
• OSHA 30 certification
• Experience managing quality on projects over $100M
