Job summary

Rittal North America is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead the quality program in a ISO 9001 environment. You will own the QMS, drive audits with customers and suppliers, manage documents and quality records, and direct containment and corrective actions across the plant.

You will develop and coach a team of inspectors, technicians, engineers, and supervisors while monitoring FPY, DPPM, and nonconformance trends to sustain product quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, auditing, inspection methods, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience with calibration systems, gauge control, and quality data analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
  • Manage document control and quality records.
  • Oversee the MRB process.
  • Lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification activities.
  • Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
  • Ensure calibration compliance, gage control, and testing effectiveness.
  • Monitor special processes and product conformance.
  • Manage nonconforming material and product control processes.
  • Support domestic customers and domestic product quality performance.
  • Analyze and report quality metrics including FPY, DPPM, audit results, and nonconformance trends.
  • Develop, coach, and lead Quality Inspectors, Technicians, Engineers, and Supervisors.

The Quality Control Manager leads all inspection, verification, and product conformance activities within an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment. This role oversees daily quality control operations, drives customer and supplier quality performance, and develops a strong, high-performing quality control team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)

Authority

The Quality Control Manager has authority to:

  • Place product on hold
  • Stop shipments for quality concerns
  • Reject nonconforming material
  • Convene and lead MRB reviews
  • Escalate quality and compliance risks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, auditing, inspection methods, and corrective action processes
  • Experience with calibration systems, gage control, and quality data analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
  • Experience in metal fabrication, machining, or assembly manufacturing
