Position Summary

The Quality Manager serves as the plant's primary champion for the corporate Quality Management System (QMS), leading all quality initiatives, certifications, audits, and continuous improvement activities. This role manages and maintains compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and ISO 13485, oversees all quality operations, directs laboratory personnel, and represents the company in all customerfacing quality matters. The Quality Manager ensures that all processes, workflows, and documentation meet regulatory, customer, and industry standards across aerospace, automotive, medical device, military, and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Quality System Leadership
  • Lead monthly safety trainings, management review meetings, and PPE compliance in partnership with the EHS Manager and General Manager.
  • Maintain full compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and ISO 13485across all plant processes and workflows.
  • Conduct, create, and update work instructions, training materials, travelers, process flows, daystoship metrics, proving orders, firsttime yield, surveys, charts, and diagrams in alignment with certification requirements.
  • Document testing procedures, methodologies, criteria, and training content.
Product Testing & Certification
  • Perform testing on all outgoing product to ensure compliance with automotive, military, aerospace, medical device, and commercial/industrial specifications.
  • Review and approve test reports, inspection reports, FAIRs, and verify all results meet specification prior to shipment.
  • Conduct capability studies and prepare PPAP documentation.
  • Manage retained samples for all shipped jobs.
Laboratory & Team Management
  • Manage fulltime lab attendants, including scheduling, overtime, performance, training, and daily direction.
  • Lead internal sorting teams and ensure corrective actions are completed prior to shipment.
  • Maintain inventory of test nuts, quality stamps, mating parts, calibration tools, and related quality equipment.
  • Directly supervise and develop a team of Quality Technicians.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management to ensure team effectiveness and compliance with quality standards.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor work activities to meet operational and quality objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support conflict resolution in accordance with company policies.
Quality Documentation & Data Management
  • Manage specification database and ensure all specifications are current revision.
  • Track cost of quality including sorting, rework, and charges related to quality issues.
  • Manage RMA's, NCR's, corrective actions, customer complaints, COTO, CAPA, supplier certifications, ASL, and all logs required for certification conformance.
  • Prepare quality reports using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Customer & Supplier Quality Support
  • Represent the company in all customerfacing quality issues and resolve concerns promptly.
  • Issue certificate corrections and communicate test results (including torque reports) to customers.
  • Verify incoming material inspections and sign off on work instructions for new orders.
Plant Floor Quality Oversight
  • Audit the plant floor daily to ensure jobs run according to work instructions and that operators and production staff complete required documentation.
  • Conduct dock audits on outgoing jobs before shipment.
  • Report all quality concerns to the General Manager immediately.
Advanced Quality & Technology
  • Lead APQP processes for new part launches.
  • Create flow charts, PFMEA, FMEA, and various diagrams.
  • Gain proficiency in camera inspection systems, validate camera effectiveness, and evaluate new technology to reduce downtime and improve quality.
Environmental & Waste Management
  • Lead waste management and hazardous waste disposal activities in coordination with lab attendants and the EHS Manager.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 2-4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fastener industry experience is a plus.
  • Must be a fast learner, selfstarter, highly motivated, and teamoriented.
Technical Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong mathematical ability including probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedulebased instructions.
  • Strong logical reasoning and problemsolving skills.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE and adhere to all safety requirements while on the production floor, during audits, inspections, and other plant activities.
  • Company-provided apparel may be required during customer audits, facility tours, or special events.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or operate equipment, reach, communicate, and observe work processes.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move throughout manufacturing and warehouse environments to conduct inspections, audits, and support production activities.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $85,000 - $115,000.
