Position Summary:

The Quality Control Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of project quality objectives. Reporting administratively to the Project Manager and functionally to the Americas Quality Director, this role leads the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Management Plan, ensures compliance with CAM’s Management System, and oversees quality assurance and control processes across all project phases.

This role is pivotal to maintaining our standards of excellence and supporting the integrity of work performed across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as CAM’s primary point of contact for all project-related quality matters.
Develop, implement, and manage the Project Quality Management Plan.
Lead and deliver project-wide quality training and inductions.
Interpret and apply contract quality requirements to inspection, testing, and related activities.
Ensure strict compliance with CAM’s Document Control practices and Management System.
Promote awareness and alignment with client-referenced quality standards.
Identify and report non-conformances, safety-related issues, and quality risks.
Track and monitor quality metrics including KPIs, NCRs, rework, and defects.
Collaborate with other discipline managers to integrate quality into all phases of project execution.
Engage subject matter experts (SMEs) across multiple technical domains including Mechanical, Electrical, Coatings, Instrumentation, and Civil.
Coordinate with Welding SMEs and third-party agencies on welding procedures and certifications.
Support supplier evaluations and quality oversight during the procurement process.
Assign and manage Quality Personnel for inspections, testing, and audit functions.
Investigate quality trends and implement corrective/preventive actions as needed.
Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) prior to implementation.
Develop and execute project audit schedules; lead formal quality audits.
Provide performance feedback on subcontractors related to quality compliance.
Participate in internal and external meetings; lead pre-inspection meetings with subcontractors.
Prepare and submit comprehensive weekly and monthly quality reports.
Provide guidance on documentation strategies to ensure full regulatory and project compliance.
Review Construction Work Packs and ITPs for quality adherence.
Develop and oversee surveillance scheduling and execution.
Facilitate Lessons Learned workshops and ensure findings are documented and shared across the organization.

Qualifications:

AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification required.
Relevant inspection or trade certification in one or more of the following: Mechanical, Welding, Coatings, Structural, Electrical, Equipment, or NDT.
Certified Lead Auditor or equivalent audit experience.
Minimum 10 years of experience in quality roles, with at least 5 years in site-based construction, engineering, or fabrication environments.
In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards, including API, ASME, AWS, ANSI, ACI, NACE, IEEE, IBC, NBIC, and NEMA.
Ability to read and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and weld details.
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel and Word essential; Access is an asset).
Experience with Completions Software (Smart Completions, Orbit, AWP).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
A flexible, collaborative mindset and a strong sense of personal accountability.
Previous involvement in Lessons Learned initiatives and Risk Management processes.
