Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is a heavy‑civil contractor with projects across North America. El Paso, TX is one of the project sites and requires a seasoned Quality Control Manager to develop and oversee quality programmes for complex field activities.

The candidate will manage QA/QC efforts for field engineering procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, ensuring client liaison and timely reporting. Travel and relocation are required for domestic/international projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in CQC management on construction projects.
• Must be willing to travel and relocate domestically/internationally.
• Experience on at least 2 Federal Design Build Projects.
• Served as the Construction Quality Control Manager on at least 2 projects with a construction value of $10 million or more.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to recognise discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and verify the implementation of quality programmes for the Project, including oversight of programmes/plans for direct-hire work and subcontractors.
• Manage and coordinate quality activities associated with field engineering procurement, construction, testing and commissioning within the Project scope.
• Maintain client liaison and communication for the Project’s quality activities, as directed by the Project Manager.
• Review, audit and survey quality activities across the Project’s direct-hire execution and subcontractors, and advise management on quality problems and progress.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Equivalent experience in a construction‑related position will also be considered.
• Must be willing to travel and relocate. Project sites are located domestically and internationally, so relocation and/or travel are required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in related CQC management construction projects.
• In addition, must have at least 2 Federal Design Build Projects.
• Served as the Construction Quality Control Manager on at least 2 projects with a construction value of $10 million or more.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognise discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic – willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide‑ranging climates and environments.
