Job summary

LaSalle Network is partnering with a construction firm to hire a Quality Control Manager (CQCM) / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO). You will manage daily QC duties on projects, overseeing documentation and inspections, and working with Project Managers and external partners to ensure a quality product on-site.

Responsibilities include maintaining submittal logs, reviewing shop drawings, leading QC and safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with EM-385/OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years in construction with a general contractor in building construction.
  • Deep knowledge of construction materials, methods, scopes, and techniques.
  • Experience with QC documentation, shop drawings, and submittals.
  • Proven ability to coordinate safety and quality on federal/public projects.

Job description

LaSalle Network is partnering with a well-established construction firm to find a Quality Control Manager (CQCM) / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to manage daily QC responsibilities on assigned projects, ensuring construction meets established minimum standards. This role includes direct oversight of documentation and physical inspection throughout the workflow process, working closely with in-house personnel and external partners to deliver a quality product.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced construction quality control professional to take ownership of QC and safety oversight on federal and public agency projects, working closely with the Project Manager and VP of Construction.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the contract, subcontracts, plans and specifications to support the Project Manager in developing onsite procedures
  • Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and other project-specific quality control reports
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications
  • Chair and document weekly QC and Safety meetings with the superintendent, providing written minutes per contract requirements
  • Provide daily QC and Safety reports reinforcing conformance with project standards and addressing non-conformances in a timely manner
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish standards of care for each definable feature of work
  • Verify and document that materials received are conformant, properly handled and stored, and acceptable for project use
  • Coordinate and document testing and commissioning of building systems
  • Perform quality control testing and inspection per contract requirements and best practices
  • Develop and update QC & APP plans to align with EM-385, OSHA, or other required safety standards
  • Work with subcontractors and vendors to procure and develop required safety documents (AHAs, certifications, lift plans, etc.)
  • Collect and file safety meeting materials, including toolbox talks and equipment inspections
What's Needed?
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the construction industry with a general contractor in general building construction
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related discipline
  • Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, scopes, and techniques
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" Certification within the last 5 years
  • OSHA 30-hour certification / EM 385 40-hour certification within the last 5 years
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification
  • NAVFAC ECATTS certification
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry
  • Strong communication skills and good judgment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work at remote locations
  • Ability to travel and relocate depending on project location
