Job summary

Haselden Construction seeks a Quality Control Manager to implement the QC program across Colorado and Wyoming projects. You will plan, inspect, document, and resolve quality issues with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and testing agencies to ensure compliance with contract documents and codes.

You will lead the start-up of the 4-Step QC process, review deficiencies, and stop non-conforming work as needed.

Qualifications

  • A 4-year degree in architecture or construction management.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Willing to travel/drive to various project locations throughout the state of Colorado and Wyoming.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

  • Start-up and implement the 4-Step Quality Control Process for assigned projects.
  • Be technically experienced and capable of understanding specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
  • Interface with the project team’s Quality Control (QC) Team and meet regularly to discuss quality issues.
  • Maintain project Quality Issues Tracking Report and verify corrections prior to closure.
  • Stop non-conforming work and require corrective action per the QC Plan.

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for implementing Haselden’s Quality Control Program across assigned projects. This position partners with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and testing agencies to plan, inspect, document, and resolve quality-related matters and ensure work complies with contract documents, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the start-up and implementation of the 4-Step Quality Control Process for assigned projects found in the company Quality Control Plan.
  • Be technically experienced and capable of comprehending the specifications, standards, and contract requirements for various subcontractor disciplines.
  • Interface directly with the project team’s Quality Control (QC) Team and meet at regular intervals to discuss quality issues and issues tracking.
  • Work with project teams to create, review, and maintain the project Quality Issues Tracking Report.
  • Review deficiency reports, track discrepancies, and verify the issues have been fully corrected prior to closure.
  • Exercise authority, in coordination with project leadership, to stop non-conforming work and require appropriate corrective action in accordance with the company Quality Control Plan.
  • Assist in the development of the Preparatory (Pre-Installation) Meeting agendas, participate in the Preparatory Meetings and participate in the Initial, Follow-up and Final Inspections, as needed.
  • Review of the Subcontractors’ Quality Control Process.
  • Be familiar with the contract drawings, specifications, and manufacturer’s information related to high-risk building assemblies.
  • Perform field inspections to verify that subcontractor work complies with project specifications, approved submittals, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Review Quality Related RFIs to ensure changes are implemented in the field.
  • Teach QA/QC Training to new-hire Operations personnel.
  • Be a resource and mentor to project teams and team members.
  • Recommend improvements to quality tools, processes, and procedures and assist the Senior Quality Control Manager with approved updates.
  • Create project specific Quality Issues Tracking Report.
  • Interface with Owner’s Quality Assurance (QA) and management on quality related issues, as needed.
  • Audit subcontractor quality control procedures and send reminder updates of unresolved quality issues.
  • Coordinate third-party testing agency activities with HCL and the subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and schedule offsite equipment Source Inspections, as needed.
  • Perform material inspections to verify that the products are to specifications and that storage, staging and material handling methods are implemented.
  • Provide project-specific input into the selection of third-party testing agencies and coordinate their activities after selection.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work in varying weather, noise, dust, and active jobsite conditions.
  • Ability to drive and travel between project locations.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $95,000- 120,000 per year. Your salary will be based on education, skills, and experience. Haselden does not discriminate based upon any protected category with respect to the payment of wages.
