Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) seeks a Production Group Leader to supervise Team Leaders and Members in the manufacturing/quality areas, directing activities across production lines to meet goals. You will plan schedules, inspect materials, and enforce safety and quality standards in an automotive plant environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 1–5 years of related experience, with strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 – 5 years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Strong command of the English language (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Team Leaders/Members in manufacturing/quality areas.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of multiple team leaders.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment for defects or malfunctions.
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures.
  • Monitor work processes to ensure standards are met.
  • Exercise independent judgment in assigning and coordinating work.
  • Ensure timely delivery within skills and availability constraints.
  • Implement corrective action per HMGMA policy.
  • Be accountable for team performance and conduct investigations as needed.
  • Address team grievances and support problem solving.
  • Participate in hiring and evaluation activities.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors to optimize operations.
  • Ensure safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Adhere to all BMS/EMS/SMS requirements.

  • Participate in hiring and promotion activities as appropriate.
  • Participate in probationary evaluations and other evaluations of Team Members and provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets for assigned production areas.
  • Undertake special assignments as required by management.
  • Ensure Team Members adhere to HMGMA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure time input is properly completed and ensure other tasks are completed as required.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Team Members and management.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Physical Demands
While in Office:

This position is primarily sedentary and requires working at a desk and computer for extended periods. Responsibilities may include:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk within the office environment as needed
When in Production Area (if applicable):
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended durations

  • Manual dexterity for handling power tools, machinery, or production equipment
  • Working in environments that may be noisy, hot, or require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Adequate visual and auditory abilities to identify safety hazards and communicate clearly
