Position Details:

• Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician
• Position Type: 1-year contract with potential for extension based on performance and business needs
• Location: Millsboro, DE

• Shift: 1st shift
• Compensation: $26.25/hr

Responsibilities:

The Quality Control Laboratory Technician conducts advanced laboratory procedures independently under supervision, testing veterinary biologicals per strict government and company guidelines. Responsibilities include working with technical equipment, performing quality testing, and adhering to GMP and SOPs. The technician must understand testing principles and the materials evaluated, such as viruses, bacteria, or cell lines.

Key Functions:

1. Maintain safe work habits and environment
2. Perform laboratory testing using aseptic techniques in compliance with regulations
3. Follow safety and company policies
4. Maintain and evaluate testing standards
5. Record test results accurately in the QC system
6. Clean work areas
7. Set up and operate equipment
8. Keep detailed records and logs
9. Report unusual occurrences
10. Perform advanced calculations and formulations
11. Manage hazardous and infectious waste

Qualifications:

Environmental Working Conditions:

• Indoor/outdoor work with temperature variations
• Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Use of PPE such as safety glasses, shoes, gloves, etc.

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent + 3 years lab experience
• Preferred: Bachelor's in science discipline

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

• Experience with analytical instruments, microscopy, biological assays
• Aseptic technique, GLP compliance
• Analytical aptitude, critical thinking
• Strong communication skills
• Preferred: SAP/LIMS knowledge
