Job summary

Standard Sand & Silica in Ivey, GA is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to perform QA tests and verify products meet established standards. You will apply methods such as gradation/sieve analysis, sand equivalency, colorimetric testing, and heavy mineral refractoriness assessments.

The ideal candidate has solid math skills, proficiency with Excel and Word, and the ability to work Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, with strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Experience with computer, Excel and Word
• Must pass drug test and pre-employment physical

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance tests to ensure product quality and conformity to established standards
• Conduct gradation/sieve analysis, sand equivalency, colorimetric testing, and heavy mineral refractoriness assessments
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate test results to relevant teams
• Support real-time quality control activities during production shifts

Standard Sand & Silica is currently looking for a Quality Control Specialist for our Ivey, GA location. The ideal candidate will perform quality assurance tests to ensure the quality of products and that they conform to established company standards. These tests will include but not be limited to the following: Gradation/Sieve Analysis, Sand Equivalency, Colorimetric, and Refractory of Heavy Minerals.

Requirements

• Must be proficient in math skills
• Must be knowledgeable in computer software, Excel, and Word
• Must be detail oriented
• Demonstrate oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
• Must be able to work any shift

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Driver's License and clean driving record
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering related field or will accept an equivalent combination or experience and/or education

Physical Requirements

• Requires walking, siting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
