Job summary

JOST International is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support our production team. You will plan and perform detailed inspection methods, measure parts, and conduct first piece audits to ensure compliance with specifications and Standards.

You will communicate non-conformities to manufacturing leads, perform SPC as required, and operate within Basic Processes and Work Instructions. This role requires familiarity with calipers and gauges and a proactive approach to quality in a

Description

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Quality Control Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR – plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of quality control work. Performs work that involves conventional part layout, process auditing, and supplier part inspection. Performs a variety of assigned Quality Assurance functions.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

• a) Plan and layout inspection methods and procedures.
• b) Makes gauge setups and adapts inspection equipment and fixtures as necessary.
• c) Performs first piece, audits, and /or 100% inspection of various in-process and/or purchased material, parts or products.
• d) Communicates non-conformities with manufacturing lead men and supervisors.
• e) Performs S.P.C. as required.
• f) Operate in compliance with Basic Processes and Work Instructions.
• g) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• a) Experience with measuring devices (i.e. calipers, height gauge, etc.) is preferred.
• b) Microsoft Excel experience is preferred.
• c) Good communication and math skills desired.
• d) Ability to gain knowledge of products, market requirements, customer requirements and industry.
• e) Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• a) Work is generally performed in a production plant 100% of time
• b) While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift, pull or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
