Job summary

Dogwood Industries LLC in Sedro-Woolley, WA is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector (QCI) to join our team in a fast-paced, industrial setting. The role focuses on inspecting and reporting non-conformances, following drawings, checklists, and the QA plan to ensure product quality.

Candidates should read engineering/shop drawings, have a minimum high school diploma, and prefer a CWI certification.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in quality control.
  • Minimum high school diploma or vocational degree.
  • Experience in steel fabrication or general construction.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and shop drawings.
  • CWI certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and report non-conformances per drawings and QA plan.
  • Identify defective or non-conforming work.
  • Issue reports and document resolution.
  • Execute and document test plans.
  • Maintain and distribute accurate drawings and red line corrections.
  • Maintain quality control records and logs.
  • Perform incoming material inspections and vendor inspections.
  • Perform first article, visual and dimensional checks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General Job Description

Dogwood Industries LLC is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector (QCI) to join our team in Sedro-Woolley, WA. A successful candidate will be experienced in inspection procedures in an industrial setting and will demonstrate an understanding of quality control procedures and key elements of the inspection process and documentation thereof.

Duties & Responsibilities

The core responsibility of the QCI is to inspect and report non-conformances in accordance with drawings, inspection checklists or other specifications identified in the quality assurance plan. Daily, the QCI may be engaged in these activities:

  • Identify defective or non-conforming work
  • Issue reports and document resolution of non-conforming conditions
  • Execute and document specific test plans
  • Maintain and distribute accurate drawings and red line corrections
  • Maintain quality control records, documents, and logs
  • Perform incoming material inspections and vendor inspections when required
  • Perform first article, visual and dimensional checks at all stages of production
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Familiarity with AWS D1.1/AWS D1.2 weld inspection
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage change along with competing priorities
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and oral skills
  • Proficiency in standard Office computer applications
Qualifications
  • 1+ years’ experience in quality control
  • Minimum high school diploma or vocational degree
  • Experience in steel fabrication or general construction
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and shop drawings
  • CWI certification is a plus
Physical Requirements/ Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Compensation

$28.00 - $38.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
