Job summary

Gerresheimer in California seeks a Quality Inspector to perform a range of preset inspection techniques to ensure the quality of ware. You will read blueprints, interpret specifications, and adjust equipment to meet tolerances, recording results accurately.

Responsibilities include data collection via SPC, maintaining blueprints and job cards, and ensuring GMP and safety practices are followed. Strong English communication is required in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Prior Quality Control Inspecting experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Statistical Process Control.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Use of calipers and gauges.
  • Must be able to understand, read, speak and write in English.

Responsibilities

  • Checks quality of processed ware by gauging techniques and visual inspection.
  • Records quality data and related information using statistical process control methods.
  • Interprets blueprints and written specifications necessary to adjust equipment to obtain required quality with tolerances and ensures proper recording.
  • Completes associated paperwork.
  • Reads, understands and follows blueprints and written specifications.
  • Makes independent decisions whether products meets quality specifications.
  • Assists in maintaining departmental blueprint files and job information cards.
  • Is knowledgeable of the SPC system and uses it as required to support manufacturing.
  • Advises departmental supervision of unusual conditions.
  • Cooperates with Quality Manager, Production Manager, Production Shift Foreman, Pack Room Coordinator, SPI’s, Machine Operators, Quality Control Specialists and Selector Packers.
  • Demonstrates behavior that meets Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety and Good Housekeeping requirements.
  • Wears safety glasses and hearing protection that is required in the Production and Warehouse areas. Hair/Beard nets, shoe covers and lab coats required in Pack Room and Quality Control Lab.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
