Job summary

XP Power's High Bridge, NJ facility designs and manufactures high-voltage power conversion solutions for critical applications. The Quality Control Inspector will inspect incoming materials, assemblies, and final products to ensure XP Power's quality and reliability standards are met, supporting customer satisfaction and safe operation.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and collaboration across Production, Engineering, Test, Materials, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics manufacturing, quality inspection, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards, quality control methodologies, and good manufacturing practices preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and collaborate across departments.
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence and professionalism when working with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information and identify quality issues.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, inspection criteria, and quality standards.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inspection and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials (PC boards, sheet metal, etc.) and assemblies.
• Perform final inspection after test and burn-in, before shipping.
• Enter reject information into computer and generate rework traveler.
• Move orders to the next department as required.
• Keep QA Supervisor informed of quality issues.

Job Description

At XP Power's High Bridge, New Jersey facility, we design and manufacture high-voltage and high-power power conversion solutions that are used in critical applications across the semiconductor manufacturing, healthcare, and industrial technology sectors. Our products help customers safely and reliably convert and control electrical power in some of the world's most demanding equipment and systems. The Quality Control Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring that every component, assembly, and finished product meets XP Power's quality and reliability standards. By inspecting incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and completed products before shipment, this position helps prevent defects, supports customer satisfaction, and ensures that products perform safely and reliably in critical end‑use applications. In this role, you will be inspecting:

• Incoming materials (PC boards, sheet metal, etc.)
• PC board and harness assemblies (many different types)
• Final assemblies (assembled power supplies)
• Perform Final Inspection (after Test and Burn-in, before shipping)
• Inspect material orders on your daily assignment sheet, using BOMs and assembly drawings
• Enter Reject information into computer, print rework traveler and return order to assembler and/or do Move transactions as required to move order to next department
• Keep QA Supervisor informed of Quality issues

Work hours are:

Day Shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm, Half-hour unpaid lunch

Qualifications

• High school dimploma or equivalent
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, quality inspection, or a related technical field
• Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards, quality control methodologies, and good manufacturing practices preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings, explain quality concerns, and collaborate effectively across departments
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence and professionalism when working with individuals at all levels of the organization and across a variety of work styles and personalities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information, identify potential quality issues, and make sound decisions independently
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, inspection criteria, and quality standards
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inspection, documentation, and compliance activities
• Self-motivated and accountable, with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Willingness to actively engage in the quality process by identifying improvement opportunities and contributing ideas that enhance product quality, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance
• Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Test, Materials, and Quality teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing or quality-related systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
