Responsible for inspecting production items to the critical criteria stated in the drawing and maintain personal responsibility of the inspection via a stamp or personal signature. The QCI is required to have a high degree of ethics and must be able to denote and elevate problems/discrepancies as they are identified. The Quality Control Inspector will determine the reputation of the product out in the marketplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that the product or service is performed to the requirements stated in the associated Drawing or the Shop Router/Work Instructions.
Checks each item of equipment used for inspection previous to use to verify that it is within the required calibration cycle.
Reads blueprints and determines tolerances
Conducts work with the use of a standard micrometer, inside and outside diameter micrometers, dial, digital and vernier calipers
Inspects each part to the required dimensions stated in the drawing in a timely manner in order to support production. Communicates to supervisor if unable to inspect the part in a timely manner.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School education or equivalent required. Some college courses preferred.
Experience in QC/QA preferred.
Experience in CMM preferred.
Must be able to read Blueprints and understands tolerances and knows to ask their supervisor if tolerances are not specified on the drawing.
Can read and use a Standard Micrometer, inside and outside diameter micrometers, Dial, Digital and Vernier Calipers with proficiency
Occasional travel may be required
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
