Job summary

BTX Precision is seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to verify product conformance on the shop floor in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will perform visual and dimensional checks, document findings, and escalate deviations per QMS procedures.

This role emphasizes hands-on measurement, GD&T interpretation, and teamwork with manufacturing staff to support reliable delivery. Candidates should have 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, strong communication, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Understanding and use of hands-on inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators, height stands) and the 10% rule for accuracy and repeatability.
• Requires minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment performing product verification.
• Good communication and reporting skills are essential.
• Understands GD&T and blueprint maps as they relate to verification activities.
• Ability to organize and prioritize duties and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support final and receiving inspection requirements such as visual/dimensional verification of product.
• Back up for ballooning/FAIR reporting and documentation support during overloads.
• Perform manual setup verification activities other than CMM.
• Conduct repetitive inspection duties such as sorting with larger sample sizes.
• Review in-process product on the floor during fabrication.
• Report out-of-tolerance conditions and assist with investigations and shop-floor communication.
• Assist with gage R&R and capability activities as required.
• Perform related tasks as assigned by the Director of Quality.
• Maintain a positive attitude and punctuality.
• Keep a clean and organized work area.
• Willing to work in a team environment.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and contribute to QMS effectiveness.
• Be aware of quality policies, procedures, objectives, and product safety/ethics.

• Understanding and use of the \"hands-on\" inspection equipment used for product verification (micrometers, calipers, comparators, height stands, etc.), accuracy (The 10% rule) and repeatability (Margin of error).


• Has a minimum of 5 years' experience or equiv in a manufacturing environment performing product verification activities.


• Good Communication and Reporting Skills.


• Understands GD&T and the blueprint map, as it relates to product verification activities.


• Can organize and prioritize job related duties and have the ability to work independently.

Duties & Expectations:

• Support final and receiving inspection requirements such as Visual/Dimensional verification of product.


• Back up for ballooning/FAIR reporting/documentation support and copulation, as required during overload situations.


• Manual setup verification activities other than Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).


• Repetitive inspection duties such as sorting - larger sample sizes.

• Reporting out of tolerance conditions, assist with the investigation activities and communication to the shop floor.
