Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to oversee quality assurance for pipe and equipment installation, welding inspection, and subcontractor oversight. The role includes documenting activities, performing QC reviews, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities include analyzing and reporting on QA results, participating in the quality program, and guiding junior team members in QA procedures.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in Quality Control with 3+ years on ASME B31 piping, industrial and commercial construction, welding, and non-destructive testing.
• Current certification under AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and/or ICC Mechanical – Commercial preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions in written or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to assure quality of products.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements.
• Reviews purchased products and advises on vendor vetting for future purchases.
• Documents data from quality assurance activities in line with policies and procedures.
• Communicates issues identified and recommends process improvements to management.
• Prepares reports detailing QA activities and outcomes.
• Maintains knowledge of current industry quality standards.

Job description

The QA/QC Inspector plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties. The QA/QC Inspector will represent ACCO and its subcontractors for pipe and equipment installation, welding inspection and oversight of subcontractor installationand quality. The QA/QC Inspector will participate in the General Contractors project quality program documenting installation activities.

• Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
• Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
• Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether the product has been vetted by ACCO for future purchases from the vendor.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies, codes and procedures.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of codes and specifications for current industry quality standards.
• The quality team may assign other duties.

Secondary Duties / Responsibilities:

• Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
• Prepares and presents technical information and reports to team members and management.
• Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
• Other duties as assigned by the Site QC Supervisor or QA/QC Director in conjunction with the project team.

• Seeking at least 5 years of experience in Quality Control with a minimum of 3 years focused on ASME B31 piping codes, industrial and commercial construction, fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields.
• Current certification in accordance with AWS QC-1 as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and /or ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Hours:

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday, with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks.
