Job summary

ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne Industries seeks an experienced Aerospace Quality Inspector for a full-time 1st shift role in Anaheim, CA. This hands-on, shop-floor position performs receiving, in-process, first article, layout and final inspections on precision sheet metal, machined, welded, and formed aerospace components using portable CMM arms.

The ideal candidate has strong GD&T and blueprint-reading skills, AS9100/AS9100D experience, and can complete AS9102 FAIRs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on aerospace quality inspection experience.
• Experience in AS9100/AS9100D manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with FARO Arm or Hexagon/ROMER Arm.
• Experience inspecting both precision sheet metal and machined components.
• Strong GD&T and blueprint-reading skills.
• Ability to independently perform inspections on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, first article, layout, and final inspections.
• Operate FARO and Hexagon portable CMM arms.
• Perform dimensional layouts and CAD-to-part inspections.
• Establish datums, alignments, and measurement setups.
• Inspect precision sheet metal and machined components.
• Complete AS9102 FAIRs, including Forms 1, 2, and 3.
• Create and verify ballooned drawings and characteristic accountability reports.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
• Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, indicators, pin gages, and other dimensional inspection equipment.
• Document nonconforming material and support NCR/MRB activities.
• Work directly with machining, sheet metal, welding, engineering, production, and quality personnel.

Full-Time | 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

$35.00–$43.00 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary

ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne Industries is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Inspector with hands-on experience using a FARO Arm, Hexagon/ROMER Arm, or similar portable CMM arm.

This is a hands-on, shop-floor inspection position working with precision sheet metal, machined, welded, formed, and fabricated aerospace components.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with portable CMM inspection, GD&T, AS9102 First Article Inspection, and AS9100/AS9100D aerospace manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using a FARO Arm, Hexagon/ROMER Arm, or similar portable CMM arm
• Experience inspecting both precision sheet metal and machined components
• Strong GD&T and blueprint-reading skills
• Experience completing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
• Ability to independently perform inspections on the production floor

Additional Experience We Value

We are also interested in speaking with candidates who have CMM programming experience.

Experience creating or modifying CMM inspection routines, establishing alignments and datums, or programming dimensional and GD&T inspections is a plus.

CMM programming is not required. Hands-on portable CMM arm experience is the primary need for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct FARO Arm or Hexagon/ROMER Arm experience
• Verisurf experience
• Portable CMM programming experience
• PC-DMIS, CALYPSO, PolyWorks, MCOSMOS, or similar metrology software
• Aerospace weldment, fixture, tooling, or fabricated-assembly inspection experience
• NCR, MRB, root cause, and corrective action experience
