Job summary

CalPortland in Seattle seeks a Quality Control Field Technician to support the Quality Manager by testing and analyzing data at project sites. You will assist with plant operations, inspect concrete materials, and ensure compliance with current ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards.

The role requires knowledge of cement concrete testing, strong communication, and the ability to work with diverse teams. OSHA 10 and ACI Field Grade Certification within six months are essential.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain ACI Field Grade Certification within six months in the position.
• Physically capable of climbing, bending, lifting and working in varying conditions.
• OSHA 10 guidelines compliance and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Work with plant operator on operations and efficiency.
• Inspect batch plant, aggregate stockpiles, and mix designs.
• Perform concrete tests such as moisture, temperature, slump, density, air content, cylinders.
• Troubleshoot material/quality issues and coordinate with internal teams.
• Prepare job incident reports and analyze aggregate strength reports.
• Work with customers and attend pre-job meetings.
• Process field test samples and perform gradation and related tests.
