Job summary

BE&K Building Group is seeking an experienced Quality Control Engineer in Morrisville, North Carolina. This onsite position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical construction and expertise in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC).

You will maintain and execute project-specific QA/QC plans, conduct inspections, and develop engineering procedures. The role demands strong compliance and documentation skills to ensure project delivery meets standards. Must be able to perform physical labor and work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience ideally from the General Contractor side.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, and balancing.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.

QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER

Maintains and adheres to the project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan. Duties include planning, monitoring, documenting, and reporting compliance with the contract documents in accordance with the project-specific QA/QC Plan. Oversee inspection throughout the duration of the project. This is an onsite position. MUST HAVE PHARMACEUTICAL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE!

Responsibilities

• Maintain and execute the project-specific QA/QC Plan with scopes of work and work procedures.
• Develop engineering procedures, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of Request For Information (RFIs), material samples, documentation, and tracking of potential cost changes and approved change orders within budgetary guidelines.
• Implement project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project safety plan.
• Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
• Establish and maintain relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the QA/QC Plan delivers a fully compliant project.
• Understand the project execution plan and coordinate QC procedures at appropriate stages of the work and in line with the project schedule.
• Continuously improve strategies and tools to efficiently and effectively document, track, and record compliance with the contract documents.
• Execute the QA/QC Plan in a manner that engages all project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
• Conduct testing and inspections, arrange for third-party testing and inspections, analyze and report the results.
• Expand the development of the Plan as the project progresses, continually improving procedures.
• Oversee development of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs).
• Oversee development of punch lists.
• Direct removal and replacement of, and document all non-compliant materials and/or workmanship; document compliance after corrective work is completed prior to starting any subsequent work.
• Research and apply additional QC and Lean procedures to enhance the quality of project delivery.
• Oversee project close-out and quality reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years related/relevant experience ideally from the General Contractor side of the business.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
