Job summary

Gator Bio, located in Palo Alto, CA, seeks an entry-level QC biochemist for temporary to permanent roles. You will perform QC testing, assist assay development, validate reagents, and maintain documentation under GMP and GDP standards.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in a relevant science and 0–2 years of biotech/IVD experience, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills for multi-project work in a fast-growing biotech setting.

Qualifications

• BS in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related science.
• 0-2 years’ experience in the related IVD or biotech field.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Perform QC testing and validation following written GMP procedures.
• Develop and validate assays for biotherapeutic characterization.
• Prepare reagents, buffers, standards, samples and controls per approved procedures.
• Draft QC protocols or SOPs and document data following GDP.
• Troubleshoot QC analyses and investigate OOS results.
• Coordinate lab maintenance, inventories, logs and calibration status.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and multi-project workflow.
