Job summary

Flow Control Group seeks a Senior Quality Engineer at Pioneer Industrial Corporation in St. Louis to lead quality initiatives, ensure documentation, and drive compliance with ASME, API, DOT, NBIC and regulatory standards for all facilities.

You will collaborate with operations, supply chain, and customer teams to implement KPI-driven improvements, manage recalls, and mentor staff on SOPs and quality programs; some travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent work history.
• Working knowledge of ASME, API, DOT, NBIC, and regulatory codes.
• Experience as a weld inspector or knowledge of welding practices is desired.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to operations.
• Ability to interpret quality audits, test results and define corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality initiatives to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of quality metrics.
• Serve as primary contact for third-party quality audit services.
• Develop and lead company-wide product recall program.
• Mentor leaders and plant personnel on quality programs and initiatives.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert on quality processes, regulatory codes, auditing, and preventive controls.

Core Functions:

• Ensure Pioneer facilities have current and complete documentationin support ofquality processes.
• Identify and expediteopportunities to buildefficiency and consistencyacross Pioneer facilities.
• Monitor and ensurecompliance with programsincluding, but notlimited to:
  • SOPs on keyprocesses
  • Regulatory Authorities'codes and standards
  • Third-party qualityaudits
  • PM programs onquality equipment
  • Risk Grids
  • Product recall andnotification requirements
• Review overall Pioneerstaffing requirements relatedto the areasof quality andmake staffing recommendationsto support changingregulatory and customerrequirements.
• Conduct and/orprovide oversight forregular inspections ofall Pioneer facilities, discuss findings withthe site managementand work withsite leadership todevelop appropriate actionplans.
• Establish and maintaineffective, consistent,measurable, and auditableprotocols for thefollowing plant operations: manufacturing, performancetesting, compliance withall regulatory bodies, vendor certification,inbound inspections ofraw materials, andlot tracking.
• Support other departmentsto ensure awarenessof relevant regulatorydevelopments and qualitystandards across thePioneer organization.
• Develop KPIs thatenable data-drivendecisions and ongoingquality and complianceimprovement.

Key Job Duties:

• Lead quality initiativesfor Pioneer toidentify opportunitiesfor continuous improvementof established qualitymetrics. Associated activitieswill include, butnot be limitedto:
  • Lead investigations anddrive resolutions ofquality issues.
  • Serve as theprimary point ofcontact for third-party quality auditservices.
  • Develop and leadPioneer-wide productrecall program.
  • Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops Pioneerleadership and Qualityplant personnel onquality programs andinitiatives.
• Functions as theSubject Matter Experton quality andprocesses, including, regulatorycodes, auditing, manufacturing, and critical/preventivecontrol points.
• Serve as theprimary quality pointof contact andinformation resource forinternal employees, customers, vendors and regulatorybodies.
• Leverage analytical skillsetto support andtrack quality initiatives.
• Assist in planningfor capital projectsor operational changesand expansions. Establishnew KPIs tomonitor the effectivenessof procedural andequipment changes.
• Responsible for settingprocess and qualitystandards to maintaina culture ofcontinuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Pioneer’ssales teams to manage, investigate, and resolve customer complaints related to quality and safety. Trackprocesses to monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Lead and oversee training programs, ensuring employees are trained on SOPs, regulatoryrequirements, quality standards, and best practices.
• Organize and assist with on-site and off-sitecustomer visits as needed.
• Support the supplychain team and shipping department as needed
• With the approval of supervisor, take a role in regulatory committees such as ASME or National Board.
• All other dutiesas assigned.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, related technical field, or an equivalent work history.
• Working knowledge of ASME, API, DOT, NBIC, and federal/state/local Regulations and codes.
• Experience as a weld inspector or knowledge of welding practices is desired.
• Demonstrates ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to Pioneer Industrial operations.
• Exhibits ability to interpret quality audits, test results and define/communicate corrective actions needed.
• Demonstrates ability to work at all levels of the Pioneer organization to influence leaders.
• Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Strong work ethic with excellent interpersonalskills.
• 25% domestic travel
