Job Description Summary The Quality Clinical Coordinator promotes a culture of safety by utilizing evidence-based practices and regulatory guidelines to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and reduce patient harm. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting infection prevention and patient safety data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting organizational compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and best practices. The specialist evaluates clinical care processes across inpatient settings, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to implement performance improvement initiatives, and develops strategies, programs, and educational efforts that enhance patient outcomes and protect the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Through ongoing surveillance, data analysis, and partnership with clinical and operational leaders, this position drives continuous quality improvement and supports excellence in patient care. Job Description Responsibilities include utilizing evidence-based practices /guidelines with the goal of preventing healthcare-associated infections and preventing patient harm. This role collects, analyzes, and reports opportunities for healthcare-associated infections and safety events. This position evaluates patient care and hospital practices in MUSC inpatient settings to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, hospital policies/procedures and evidence-based practices. This role works collaboratively with other departments to ensure staff, patient and visitor public health safety. This position collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams for implementation of evidence-based guidelines and performance improvement and implements plans, projects and programs to improve clinical outcomes.
