Job summary

Frost Bank is seeking a Quality Automation Engineer III to design, build, and maintain robust test automation for our banking applications. You will lead automation efforts, mentor peers, and partner with product, development, and business teams to ensure reliable software delivery.

The role requires a technical degree (or equivalent), 4+ years in test automation, strong JAVA or Python with Selenium/Playwright, SQL skills, and experience guiding testing on large projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of test automation experience.
• Proficiency in JAVA or Python with Selenium/Playwright.
• SQL knowledge and exposure to database queries.
• Strong OO programming concepts and design patterns.
• Experience leading testing efforts for complex projects and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, design, review, build, and deploy test automation solutions and framework for the most complex, interrelated systems to ensure the quality and stability of software applications
• Lead the troubleshooting and triage of the most complex escalated system issues with project teams to identify root causes, resolve issues, and implement process improvements
• Guide and mentor other Test Automation Engineers to ensure alignment with Frost’s framework and industry standards
• Collaborate with product management, project management, development teams, and business stakeholders to develop project, product, and testing objectives
• Write and execute functional test cases as needed

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with product management, project management, development teams, and business stakeholders to develop project, product, and testing objectives

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of test automation experience
• Technical development experience with multiple programming or scripting languages like JAVA, Python while using Selenium/Playwright as framework
• Exposure to database technologies and SQL queries
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming concepts and design patterns
• Expert knowledge of the role of Test Automation and Software Quality Assurance in the development process including test planning, execution, and production support
• Demonstrated experience leading testing efforts for complex projects and applications and partnering closely with stakeholders
• Experience with a distributed version-control management system like GIT, BitBucket

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience using automated testing tools like Junit, TestNG, Cucumber, Appium, JMeter, SoapUI, Playwright
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD integration including Jenkins, Maven, Splunk etc.
• Knowledge of Non-Functional Testing (Performance, Security and Accessibility Testing)
• Exposure to Insurance applications and functionality preferred
