Qualifications

  • Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to perform basic mathematical testing calculations.
  • Experience with reading and following manuals and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with injection molding processes and plastics testing is preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime and meet quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required testing of RTP plastics, including mechanical properties, conductivity, flame retardant, ash, moisture, flow, and contamination inspections.
  • Perform injection molding on test specimens, panels, and pucks.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing performed.
  • Collaborate with QA Manager to continually improve product quality.
  • Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
  • Other duties as assigned

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for performing the required testing and inspection of injection molded specimens and pellet samples for production, sample, experimental and raw material product types.

Work Schedule

1st Shift 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday - Friday

Responsibilities
  • Perform required testing of RTP plastics: Typical testing includes a variety of mechanical properties along with conductivity, flame retardant, ash, moisture, flow, and contamination inspections
  • Perform injection molding on test specimens, panels, and pucks
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing performed
  • Collaborate with QA Manager and to continually work towards the highest quality products
  • Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Education And Experience
  • High School diploma preferred
  • Prior related Thermoplastic injection molding and/or plastics mechanical testing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with RTP products preferred
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl,
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment
  • Use of safety equipment as dictated by the work (safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts
Frequently
  • Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
  • Work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particles
Occasionally
  • Sit
  • Handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 pounds.
  • Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level requiring use of hearing protection
Other
  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
