Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician in Orlando, FL to maintain food safety and QA systems (SQF, HACCP, FSMA, HARPC) and oversee process controls in our bakery-focused plant.

The role involves hands-on testing, label review, and data management using TraceGains, SafeFood360, and SnapQC, with a contract-to-hire path and a pay range of $20–$30 per hour. Strong knowledge of food science and regulatory requirements, HACCP certification, and 2+ years in the bakery sector are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition, microbiology, biology, or a related field.
• HACCP certification and PCQI preferred, but can be obtained while working.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the food industry, bakery experience preferred.

Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description

The Quality Assurance Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the food safety and quality assurance systems and controls within our plant. This position involves participation in various regulatory compliance and quality assurance processes, including SQF, HACCP, FSMA, HARPC, and process controls.

• Utilize systems such as TraceGains, SafeFood360, and SnapQC for QA testing and data management.

• Conduct regulatory compliance activities, including pH and water testing.

• Review and ensure accuracy of product labels in compliance with regulations.

Essential Skills

• Strong knowledge of food science and quality assurance principles.

• Experience with food safety regulations, including HACCP, FDA guidelines, and the Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR Sections).

• Proficiency in using cloud-based food safety and quality management systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition, microbiology, biology, or a related field.

• HACCP certification.

• PCQI certification (preferred, but can be obtained while working).

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the food industry, with a preference for bakery experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
