Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a capable Quality Assurance Technician in Marshville, North Carolina. You will monitor production operations by performing HACCP checks, AQLs, moisture testing, and grade verifications, under QA supervision, in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are hands-on, capable of working 8–11 hour shifts in varied temperatures, with strong problem-solving skills and adherence to safety and USDA standards. Growth opportunities exist within a safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Exercise sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills.
• Address routine issues involving a limited number of variables within established procedures.
• Work in a refrigerated environment with temperatures around 40°F.
• Work in a heated environment with temperatures around 85°F.
• Stand for 8–11 hours per shift with repetitive hand movements.
• Lift 20 lbs or more.
• Previous experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or production environment is a plus.

You will monitor and inspect production operation by performing HACCP monitoring, AQL’s, Moisture Test, Grade Checks and other process and quality monitoring duties specified by QA Supervisor and QA Manager. • Processes product using tools (to include knives), manual labor, and equipment provided in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s Company product standards and procedures.
• Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
• Clean and organized work area.
• Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
• Observes all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams.
• Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
• Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
• Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.
