Job summary

Lyons Magnus LLC is seeking Quality Assurance Technicians for the Walton, KY facility. The role supports the QA department to ensure products meet safety and quality standards, with back-fill duties for QA Lead or Supervisor when needed.

Shifts include Day (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) and Mid (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm); Night may receive a 5% differential. Candidates should have a high school diploma and lab experience, plus GMP and food-safety training.

Qualifications

• Follow all lab methods and procedures with accuracy.
• Active participation in the LME safety program.
• Complete required food safety training per protocol.
• Maintain documentation with detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in problem solving to determine root cause and preventive measures.
• Cover QA checks and laboratory procedures as needed.
• Assist as a trainer for QA lab policies and procedures.
• Perform sensory evaluation on samples and document results.
• Ensure proper collection and shipment of customer samples with documentation.
• Work independently at batch station and escalate when needed.

Lyons Magnus is seeking Quality Assurance Technicians for the following shifts at its Walton, KY Facility:

• Day: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
• Mid: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Pay Range:

Day shift: $20.00 - $21.00 /per hour

Mid and Night shifts include a 5% differential.

Job Summary:

The Quality Department is responsible for verifying that product meets or exceeds safe food handling and quality standards. This includes taking any necessary corrective action in the event of an issue. They are responsible for collaborating with Operations and other functional stakeholders to ensure safe, wholesome and set quality parameters are adhered to, controls in place are functioning as designed and escape matters in a timely manner. In the absence of the QA Technician, the QA Lead or Supervisor will back fill.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Level 1 QA will:
• Assist in problem solving events to determine root cause and establish preventive measures.
• Has knowledge and application of 100% of all laboratory procedures, cross functionally trained and able to cover 100% of Quality Control and Assurance checks or expectations
• Assist as a Trainer for all QA Lab, Line, and dept. policies and procedures
• Performs sensory evaluation on samples and document as necessary
• Ensure effective collection and shipment of customer samples and with appropriate documentation.
• Ability to work independently at batch station and elevate when necessary
• Ability to effectively batch/make necessary adjustments using experience and tools provided at frontline station for all lines/product SKUs independently.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Follow all lab methods and procedures (responsibilities are completed and accurate).
• Active participation in the LME safety program.
• Complete all required food safety training per Alchemy protocol.
• Abides by all internal policies, including adherence to all GMP practices, attendance policy and completion of methodology described in the Technical Services Manual.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint,
• A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning and overall time management skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma with 1-3 years' experience in a laboratory environment, preferably one in a food manufacturing facility. Additional course work in (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science) or related discipline a plus.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation.
