Job summary

Actalent is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to support production quality and ensure compliance with established standards on the manufacturing floor in Chanhassen, MN. You will create and manage work orders, maintain documentation, and address quality concerns as part of a continuous improvement effort.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of quality assurance experience in manufacturing or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, GMP/GDP standards and quality systems.
  • Experience using inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel, plus basic computer systems.
  • Clear communication and collaborative mindset; adaptable to schedule changes.
  • Associate or technical degree preferred; experience in regulated products is a plus.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying issues and reinforcing standards.

Job Description
Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to support production quality and ensure compliance with established standards. This role involves creating and managing work orders, maintaining accurate documentation, and addressing quality concerns on the production floor. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Create and manage work orders and fill documentation aligned to the production schedule.
  • Maintain retains, including collection, tracking, organization, and storage.
  • Issue deviations and partner with QA to resolve issues.
  • Address on-floor and QC inspection concerns, such as labeling, placement, and quality issues.
  • Inspect and approve incoming components and evaluate questionable parts, escalating as needed.
  • Establish and train on sensory standards for finished goods.
  • Review batch records and provide a second sign-off.
  • Complete changeover documentation for production runs.
  • Maintain accurate records and tracking systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying issues and reinforcing quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • 1–3 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GDP standards, and quality systems.
  • Experience with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and placement gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate or technical degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in regulated products (Food, Cosmetics, Personal Care, OTC, Coatings).
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures, including bacteria culture and aseptic technique.
Work Environment

The work environment involves plant sampling within the manufacturing space, supporting both the micro and analytical labs. The position requires tasks involving close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to detect and differentiate odors and visually evaluate raw materials and finished products. The shift is Monday to Friday, from 12pm to 8pm. The role supports the growth of new product lines in lotions and creams for personal care and OTC products, contributing significantly to the company's expansion. Employees enjoy 3 days of PTO, 6 billable holidays, and a collaborative work culture.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chanhassen, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
