Job summary

US Conec, Ltd. is seeking a Quality Technician to support incoming inspections, QA processes, and documentation control, ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements.

This role partners with Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and suppliers to maintain product quality and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in a technical discipline, hands-on inspection experience, and the ability to read engineering drawings, use precision measurement

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
  • Experience performing quality inspections in manufacturing, engineering, or technical environments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical docs
  • Proficiency with precision measurement and inspection equipment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel/Word skills and documentation practices
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspections and dimensional verification of externally supplied products
  • Operate precision measurement equipment and inspection tools
  • Assist with investigations, root cause analysis, containment actions, and corrective actions
  • Conduct and support First Article Inspection (FAI) and FAIRs
  • Develop and provide Certificates of Conformance and other documentation
  • Support calibration program administration and records management
  • Maintain controlled documentation libraries and support internal quality audits
  • Assist with warehouse and logistics duties as needed
  • Maintain accurate quality records and data storage
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement

Overview

US Conec is seeking a Quality Technician to support incoming inspection activities, quality assurance processes, and documentation control while helping ensure compliance with internal and customer quality requirements. This role collaborates closely with Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and external suppliers to maintain product quality, support investigations, and drive operational excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming inspections and dimensional verification of externally supplied products to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate precision measurement equipment and inspection tools to evaluate product quality and support technical assessments.
  • Assist Quality Engineering and Quality Management with investigations, root cause analysis, containment activities, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, including interpretation of engineering drawings and completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Develop and provide Certificates of Conformance and other customer-required quality documentation to support product shipments and compliance requirements.
  • Respond to customer requests for compliance, certification, and traceability documentation.
  • Support the administration of the calibration program, including scheduling external calibration services, performing internal calibrations, maintaining records, and assisting with out-of-calibration assessments.
  • Facilitate document control processes, including document updates, approvals, distribution tracking, and maintenance of controlled documentation libraries.
  • Lead and/or support internal quality audits to verify compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and quality system requirements.
  • Assist warehouse and logistics operations as needed, including receiving, inventory put-away, order picking, and shipping support.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and ensure proper organization, storage, and retrieval of inspection and compliance data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to promote continuous improvement and support quality objectives throughout the organization.
Must Haves
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement and inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage records, documentation, and data accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with optical fiber, cable, connector, or related telecommunications products.
  • Familiarity with ERP or material management systems.
  • Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Experience performing visual inspections using microscopes.
  • Knowledge of calibration systems, quality audits, and document control processes.
  • Exposure to First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and quality management systems.
  • Understanding of supplier quality and incoming inspection processes.
