Job summary

TekPro is partnering with a contract manufacturer to hire a QA Supervisor for its Elgin, IL operation. This role leads QA inspectors and lab technicians on the production floor, ensuring testing, documentation, and corrective actions align with GMPs and food-safety standards. First shift, roughly 6:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays. Competitive base salary ($80,000–$90,000) plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision, company-paid life and disability

Qualifications

• Quality assurance experience in food manufacturing or closely related regulated production environments.
• Experience supervising quality technicians, inspectors, or lab personnel.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety, product disposition, and corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise QA inspectors and lab technicians, setting expectations for testing, documentation, and follow-through.
• Oversee daily laboratory, testing, and audit activities across the facility.
• Manage product holds, out-of-specification material, and positive-release documentation.
• Support GMP, sanitation, environmental monitoring, and food safety programs.
• Partner with Operations and Sanitation to resolve production-floor quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support customer complaint investigations, plant audits, and inspections.
• Maintain specifications, QA records, and internal quality documentation.
• Support production start-ups, test runs, and special projects.

TekPro is a direct-hire recruiting firm specializing in manufacturing and technical talent. We’re partnering with an established contract manufacturer and packaging business to hire a QA Supervisor for its Elgin operation.

This is an active opening for a quality leader who knows the production floor, can develop a team, and follows issues through to resolution. The operation supports major consumer brands, with food safety, product consistency, and customer requirements at the center of the work.

Schedule

First shift, approximately 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday. Some Saturdays are required based on production needs.

What You’ll Own

What We’re Looking For

• Quality assurance experience in food manufacturing, food packaging, or a closely related regulated production environment.
• Experience supervising or leading quality technicians, inspectors, or laboratory personnel.
• Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety practices, product disposition, and corrective action.
• Comfort making quality decisions on the floor and communicating clearly with production teams.
• Strong organization, documentation habits, and attention to detail.
• English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
