Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting represents a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Silver Spring area seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for 1st shift. You will lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory to ensure product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

You’ll coach team members, review lab results, assist audits, and partner with plant departments to drive process improvements and consistent quality across all batches.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or related field.
• 1–3 years of QA or manufacturing experience.
• Experience in beverage manufacturing and food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiology or aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with HPLC and GC.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced production.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Availability to work first shift with flexibility.

• Recommend process improvements based on testing results and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with regulatory, certification, customer, and internal audits.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen quality and customer satisfaction.

Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000, depending on experience
Schedule: First shift. Flexibility for additional shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required based on operational needs.

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Silver Spring area.

This role leads quality personnel in the laboratory and on the production floor, ensuring products meet established quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college or technical education, with a background in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or a related discipline.

• One to three years of relevant work experience.

• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.

• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiological or aseptic techniques.

• Familiarity with liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC).

• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

• Availability to work first shift with flexibility for additional coverage when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or relevant experience in biology, chemistry, food science, or health sciences.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, statistical software, SAP, and Kronos.

Work takes place in laboratory and manufacturing areas that may involve elevated noise, wet conditions, and significant temperature variations.
