Job summary

TreeHouse Foods, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for our Cambridge, MD facility to lead the QA program ensuring product quality, food safety and sanitation in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

You’ll manage the QA team, oversee audits and investigations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with R&D and other departments to maintain high quality and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• SQF Practitioner certification and Food Defense Program leadership experience preferred.
• Experience auditing quality systems and manufacturing practices required.
• Experience ensuring documentation requirements are followed to meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience developing and conducting employee training preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and analytical skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop the Quality Assurance team and ensure scheduling needs are met.
• Provide leadership and technical assistance to help resolve quality-related problems.
• Oversee, implement, and maintain QA programs, including Formula Control, Allergen Control, Non-Conforming Products, Recalls, Food Safety Plans, and pest control systems.
• Define and enforce laboratory practices and quality policies.
• Ensure compliance with company and governmental sanitation regulations.
• Collaborate with R&D to improve product quality and cost-effectiveness, support product changes, and oversee plant testing.
• Monitor raw material compliance and manage supplier communications.
• Provide quality and food safety training for employees at all levels.
• Conduct GMP and sanitation audits and summarize technical data to identify trends and corrective actions.
• Support quality systems and initiatives such as SPC, SQF, and continuous improvement processes.
• Lead efforts to resolve quality-related issues, including customer complaints, product holds, and incidents.
• Maintain and oversee food safety regulatory programs.
• Serve as the plant liaison for regulatory authorities, including governmental agencies and third-party auditors.
• Analyze and interpret microbiological results and initiate corrective actions.
• Lead and collaborate with other departments on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for our Cambridge, MD, facility, a leading manufacturer of quality aseptic products. In this role, you will lead the execution of quality assurance programs that support product quality, food safety, and sanitation while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Important Details:

• This is a full-time, second shift position with the ability to support other shifts as needed.
• The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $76,200.00 - 114,200.00 USD annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award, bonus and equity pay.
