Job summary

Axios Professional Recruitment is partnering with a growing West Michigan manufacturer to hire a Quality Assurance Specialist. This role will monitor product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate has QA experience in an FDA-regulated environment and enjoys working in a fast-paced production setting, with strong documentation, audits, and continuous improvement responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a science-related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of QA or QC experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in food manufacturing or processing is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a GFSI-certified facility (SQF, BRC, AIB, or similar) is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product quality and food safety throughout the manufacturing process.
• Complete and maintain quality documentation, inspection records, and compliance logs.
• Ensure GMP, SQF standards, USDA Organic requirements, and FDA regulations compliance.
• Train team members on food safety procedures and quality standards.
• Support corrective action initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Collect and manage product samples for laboratory testing, development, and retention.
• Inspect products, equipment, and production processes for quality standards and customer specs.
• Assist with audits including SQF, Organic, and Kosher certifications.
• Promote a safe, quality-focused culture across the production team.
