Job summary

Wilcox Industries Corporation is seeking a QA Specialist to assure production quality by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice systems, validating processes, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

You will work with the manufacturing team to support continuous improvement initiatives, perform Gage R&R studies, review manufacturing prints, and help implement corrective actions to maintain robust quality across all production lines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a fast-paced, advanced manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Experience with quality measurement equipment and methods.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and QA software.
• Regular on-site attendance is required for this role.
• Wilcox is a U.S. government defense contractor; candidate access to controlled tech is required.

Responsibilities

• Define and create gaging for production floor and quality use.

Job description

The QA Specialist assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice systems; validating processes; and ensuring products meet establish quality standards. The QA Specialist will work directly with the manufacturing team to support critical efforts and key continuous improvement initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Define, review, create methods and processes for testing/measuring production output in quality plans.
• Perform Gage R&H studies and Measurement System Analysis to ensure testing/measuring methods are repeatable/reproduceable.
• Review MFG prints provided by the programming team and use MFG prints to build out quality plans in 1 Factory.
• Define, review, create hard or functional gaging to be used on the production floor and in quality.
• Learn and train specialized processes related to Wilcox's advanced manufacturing practices.
• Collaborate and communicate effectivity with the multiple manufacturing teams to support any needs or relay any improvements.
• Perform data analysis as needed to determine process control (Cpk) on specific critical to quality processes to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
• Identify root cause of' defects and collaborate on determining corrective/preventative actions.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:

• 5+ years in a fast paced, advanced manufacturing environment dealing with wide range of manufacturing processes and practices.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Blueprint/Technical document reading and understanding of GD&T
• Usage of basic and advanced quality equipment
• Advanced understanding of quality and machining/manufacturing processes
• Able to use computer and Microsoft suite.
• Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position.
• Wilcox is a U.S. government defense contractor, and this position is responsible to control access to export-controlled technology. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to beginning work.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in root cause/corrective action efforts
• Experience with data analysis tools

Physical Requirements:

• Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Visually able to read fine print
• Hand Eye coordination and repetitive usage of fingers/hands
