  • Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and SMEs to gather information.
  • Structure content for maximum reader comprehension and add visuals.
  • Ensure consistency in terminology and formatting.
  • Coordinate with DCMA QAR for inspections.
  • Perform calibration of equipment/gages.
  • Assist with receiving, in-process, glass room, and final inspections.

Job Summary

Primary individual responsible for preparation, accuracy, and improvement of packets for production lots, inspection plans, and other program quality documents. Coordinates the preparation for the required program SDRLs/CDRLs, tracking of timely submission and approvals. Coordinates inspections with DCMA QAR and provides needed information for acceptance of the product, including the verification that all Final Inspections have been completed successfully. Develop comprehensive documentation that meets Armtec's standards, gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content.

Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into language for success. Develop and maintain updated versions of program materials technical data packets in configuration management. Evaluate content and develop innovative methods for improvement.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain technical documents which include writing and updating SOP, manuals, instruction guides, FAQs, online help systems, software documentation, and other materials that explain products, services, or process.
  • Primary point of contact for the development of Inspection Plans, AIEs/MSEs, and other related program documents.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Final Shipment packets/LATS and Final Ammo Data Card approvals, including WARP and WAWF.
  • Participated in the creation and execution of quality tools to help facilitate root cause investigation. These may include Statistical Process Control, 8Ds, and other lean tools.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and production teams. Work closely with engineers, developers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, ensure accuracy, and gain a deep understanding of the subject matter.
  • Organizing and structuring content, determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for maximum reader comprehension.
  • Incorporate visuals by using diagrams, screenshots, illustrations, and other visuals to enhance understanding and break down complex concepts.
  • Ensure consistency in terminology, style, and formatting across various platforms and media.
  • Gather feedback from users to identify areas for improvement and update documentation accordingly.
  • Writing specific types of documentation such as policy and procedure documentation, technical specifications, training materials, and more.
  • Research, create, and maintain templates and structures for organizing and storing documents.
  • Serve on specific teams such as usability studies, quality design teams, or user experience teams.
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
  • Generate innovative ideals for content and workflow solutions.
  • Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
  • Serve as a bridge between technical experts and the target audience, ensuring that complex information is communicated effectively and efficiently.
  • Perform Calibration of Equipment/Gages.
  • Assist with receiving, in-process, glass room, and final inspection activities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Self-motivated with excellent research and writing skills, able to interact and communicate effectively with all personnel.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common documents, procedures, and instructions with attention to details.
  • Must have legible and accurate handwriting.
  • Work independently or as a team player.
  • Strong organization skills, strong writing skills and ability to multi-task.
  • *This is an ATF covered position.
  • Must be able to comprehend written and oral directions.
  • Must be able to follow standard procedures.

Education/Previous Experience Requirement
  • Associate degree with 4 years’ experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preference is a 4-year engineering degree or ability to be certified as a Quality Engineer through ASQ for future development.
  • MS Office Skills (Excel & Word) required. Other software knowledge in statistical tools or programming is plus.
  • Experience working with systems in a manufacturing environment preferred.
