Job summary

Unifi Aviation LLC is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to drive program evaluation and improvement across the safety management system. You will identify hazards, perform field QA assessments, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures at Unifi locations.

The role emphasizes partnering with operations and safety teams, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions to reduce safety events and enhance overall safety performance across stations and regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or Aviation Safety.
• 3–6 years of EH&S program management/Regulatory experience.
• Ability to execute station assessments and develop comprehensive summaries for continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and influence across functional areas.
• Strong technical and business writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify locations comply with internal and external requirements through the formal Unifi safety audit program.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is part of the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Programs & Strategy team at Unifi and is responsible for helping drive our program evaluation and improvement efforts. Focus is on identifying, evaluating, and controlling hazards by completing quality assurance assessments in the field. This role provides focused support on driving compliance with policies, programs and procedures here at Unifi.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partners with operations, compliance and safety teams to develop and implement the tools, programs, procedures, requirements, and processes to initiate and maintain a company-wide safety management system that aligns with unifi, airline customer, general industry, and regulatory expectations
• Verifies that all company locations are operating in a manner compliant with all internal requirements and external requirements/regulations through implementation and management of a formal unifi safety audit program
• Measures and verifies current effectiveness of requirements set by safety procedures, processes, and audits in driving reduction of safety events at stations, and makes necessary changes on an ongoing basis if a gap is identified
• Conducts required safety and compliance audits designed to identify deficiencies and find/correct root causes with appropriate corrective actions to measure the success of unifi safety programs and identify and predict potential high‑risk areas of the operation
• Performs station visits in support of Unifi and our customers to evaluate safety performance and promote safety awareness and coaching, including collecting feedback from station and regional leaders on how to make safety programs/processes/requirements more effective
• Develops and communicates impactful corrective actions that can be implemented locally and across the organization

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Aviation Safety is preferred. Three (3) to Six (6) years of experience in the field of environmental health and safety program management and regulations or working with such programs as an operational leader.

• Ability to execute station assessments on their own and develop a comprehensive summary to aid in continuous improvement

• Proven ability to solve complex problems and influence people across all functional areas

• Strong technical and business writing skills
• Proficient and experienced user of Office 365 apps/programs (Word, Power Point, Sharepoint, Sway), including managing and manipulating data using Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Experience in airline/aviation-specific operations and has experience with implementing and or using quality assurance programs
• Experience with creating and or using data visualization and analysis using software (Power BI / Tableau / Spotfire)
• Experience with industry‑standard environment, health, and safety digital safety management systems (Gensuite)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee works indoors in a semi‑private office, while performing multiple tasks under tight time constraints. During field visits the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, snow, sun and extreme cold and extreme heat and moving mechanical parts such as propellers and jet fans and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May work various hours, nights, weekends and holidays. Up to 75% travel may be required.
